Our intention is to establish an analytics-focused space now to serve Foster students into the future. Our aim is for the student body to have input on how Foster teaches and approaches analytics going forward. We are working on laying this groundwork now, so that future students have this foundation to keep building on.
The club's value proposition is divided into four main pillars as follows:
Recruitment Preparedness: Understanding exactly which data skills new MBAs will be expected to have in specific roles and industries (how do you find the right KPIs and track them effectively? How do you avoid bias and noise in data? How do you tell a good story with your visualizations, or know as a manager how to best interpret a report?)
Academic and Skills Planning: Includes keeping students informed of electives, club offerings, and community events relevant to data and analytics skill-building. The club helps students understand not only what they need to know, but how to build these skills. We partner with the MBA program to ensure that our curriculum is geared toward the current and future data and analytics environment.
Networking: Building relationships with professionals who leverage analytics across industries. Establish and maintain relationships with Foster and UW alumni who use analytics across a range of roles.
Resources: Students will have access a set of curated self-teaching resources (videos, websites/open source, guides, past club and industry webinars like the Tableau Conference)
